ABSTRACT

As the airport businessis becoming more and more multifaceted, business strategies are being put to the test. The current trend in airport management is to rely on commercial operations to contribute an increasing share to airport revenues. But such an approach has to be balanced with the basic needs of the airport’s customers, the airlines and passengers. With airline alliances spreading across the world, what is the airport industries’ answer to that challenge? Airport cooperation has quite a short history. But will airport cooperations and alliances prevail and be the right answer?
