There has been recent, inconclusive debate about Spinoza’s religious position; in particular, his association with Judaism and Christianity. Papers in a recent volume edited by Heidi Ravven and Lenn Goodman have discussed the Jewish themes in his work, as have valuable books by Steven Smith and Steven Nadler. Graeme Hunter stresses the Christianity, as he sees it, in Spinoza’s thinking.1
