ABSTRACT

Both China and South Korea need to import large amounts of crude oil at present and in the future. However, the situation in terms of oil trade and shipping operations of the two countries are quite different. The demand for sea transportation, the related shipping policy, the physical condition of the tanker fleets and the operating features of the two fleets are examined and compared in this paper. Based on these comparison and analysis, a constructive suggestion is recommended for the co-operation of the two sides in the trade and transportation area.
