ABSTRACT

G a y and lesbian churches have grown steadily since the 1960s; but with the exception of Enroth (1974) and Warner (1995), very little research has been given to studying the dynamics of their corporate life and culture. Using deviance theory as his theoretical base, Enroth (1974) investigated several gay and lesbian religious groups in existence in the 1970s, including the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches(UFMCC), also known as Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC).
