BADBY, THOMAS gentleman and JP; signed November 1582; parishioner of St James parish; one of the two most powerful individuals in Bury; assessed at £20 worth of land in east ward; one of the inhabitants for common conference in the town; a feoffee of the guildhall. BALKEY, NICHOLAS signed August and November 1582. BARNARD, WILLIAM signed August 1582. BASINEWIGHTE, JOHN signed August 1578; questman in 1578; served on the common conference; parishioner of St James parish; will proved in 1594 (1C 500/2/43/11). BAXTER, JAMES baker; signed August 1578, August and November 1582; will proved in 1612 (1C 500/2/48/151); gave 10s each to petitioners Christopher Coxe and Rafe Coxe; parishioner of St James. BEACHAM, JOHN signed August 1578; churchwarden of St James parish 1578; probably son of James Beacham of St James parish who served on the common conference of the town.
