ABSTRACT
A private airplane carrying a bank’s daily volume of canceled checks and nonnegotiable securities crashes, killing the pilot and destroying all documents beyond recovery. An explosion renders a building unsafe to enter, resulting in delays in retrieving the records stored inside. A disgruntled employee erases all the data on an organization’s payroll system. A business is burned to the ground during urban riots, leaving nothing intact. A fire bums inside a vault damaging many engineering drawings before it can be extinguished. The water poured onto the fire causes further damage as the documents become soaked.
