ABSTRACT
One spontaneously speaks of the church as the locus or place for the unfolding of theological reflection. One does theology in the church. However, because the metaphor of ‘place’ is a physical and spatial image, it connotes clear boundaries. And some analyses of the distinct nature of theology as a discipline have strengthened the idea that the range of the object of
church, its subject matter is not limited to ecclesial matters.
