Most if not all social research generates ethical implications; however, they are likely to be more pronounced if you intend to interview people or gather data through a similar method where contact is a prerequisite. Although it depends upon which research method(s) you intend to utilise to collect your data, qualitative social research will often tend to raise more intense ethical questions, as Padgett (1998: 33) proposes:

The essential ethical rules of good conduct are covered in this chapter alongside requirements set by professional codes of ethics and committees. First, we briefly define and look at the relationship between ethics, qualitative research and social work.
