ABSTRACT
Fukuyama’s (1995) definition of culture as “inherited ethical habit” was given in Chapter 2. An ethical habit can consist of an idea or value, a behaviour, or a relationship. Ideas, values, and relationship patterns constitute the ethical codes by which societies regulate their peoples’ behaviour. Ethical habits are nurtured by repetition, tradition, and example. They are reinforced through images, habits, and social opinions.
