ABSTRACT
The challenges is that governments faced with pressures to maintain the living standards and aware of the political risks of the introduction of sustainability initiatives – will place their whole focus on a business as usual approach to ‘steadying the economic ship and achieving growth’. Similarly, as businesses face short terms challenges, there can be the temptation to reduce commitments to sustainability.
