ABSTRACT

This chapter begins with a brief description of the project’s pedagogy and curriculum content. The project was organized in seven stages, but in this chapter I will describe the first five stages only. The final two stages, which involved informal learning with classical music, are given separate consideration in Chapter 7. Appendix B contains a résumé of each stage. Having introduced the stages briefly below, I will discuss the teachers’ initial responses to them. Then I will give an overview of the teachers’ roles, and consider how their views of these developed as time went by.
