ABSTRACT

Each archive is unique, and presents special features of its own. It is therefore quite usual for archivists to decide that the listing models cannot be used without some modification to suit the job in hand. MAD standards have been devised with this qualification in mind. Notwithstanding this, it is quite possible to apply the principles and general rules laid down in MAD while at the same time applying any case-specific or relevant local modifications to the actual layout of data on the page.
