ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the case study of Moorecraft College and Meadowvale Inn which is used for negotiation training. Meadowvale Inn is located a few blocks away from Moorecraft College campus, which houses the Department of Community Training Services. There are also two other hotels within a one-mile radius of the college campus. All three hotels hire out meeting rooms. Moorecraft has rented a meeting room at Meadowvale Inn three times during the past year. In this simulation the college needs a meeting room for a course that it cannot fit into its own premises and is urgently searching nearby hotels for accommodation and rooms in which to conduct its course. This produces many issues in terms of the price of the meeting room, prices for associated items, accommodation prices and so on. Teams quickly get down to trading across the issues once they realize that there is a compatibility of interests.
