Justwartheoryisinprincipleabranchofethicaltheory,sincealljustificationof humanactionscanbeviewedasaquestionofethics.Throughouthistory,the classicethicaltheorieshavemainlybeenformulatedbymen.Possiblynot coincidentally,theyaredominatedbyaKantiancodeofrightsandobligations whichmanyperceiveasparticularlymasculine.Sincethe1980s,agroupof philosophershasbeguntoexplorewhetherthereisanethicofcarewhichcanbe seenascharacteristicallyfeminineandopposedtotheKantianview.Iproposeto buildontheirworkandinvestigatewhethertherecanbesaidtobeaseparate feminine,orfeminist,theoryofjustwar.
