ABSTRACT

Ruled by a constitution established in 1853, Argentina is a federal country, divided into 23 provincial states, a Federal Capital City and a national territory situated at the southern part of the country - Tierra del Fuego and the southern Atlantic islands. The provincial states have their own constitutional organization, based on the republican division of powers. They preserve the institutional powers and competencies not explicity granted to the federal state. They interpret and apply national regulations through a judicial hierarchy consisting of three levels.
