ABSTRACT
Many of the images in this series reference death. At the same time, I want to punctuate that, inevitably they are, at least to me, very hopeful. Ultimately we all fail, but there is beauty in the eort to avoid it. Hope and despair are intimately related. If hope is the envisioning of that which is not present, then the creation of a photograph functions similarly, in that photographs call into being things that may or may not have existed as they appear to exist in the photograph.
