ABSTRACT

In this section an inventory of existing methods of mission and task analysis, reported in the literature or in use by research institutes or industry, has been presented, together with findings on how these methods are used by military training institutions. The starting point was an outline of the MASTER methodology, providing a baseline for describing existing methods from the perspective of the comprehensive outline developed. In this way, discrepancies could be identified that indicated areas in which existing methods fail to elicit sufficient information for the design of training programmes.
