Whatarethecharacteristicsandeffectsofstress'onsocialsystemsindynamic organizationalenvironments?Toanswerthisquestionanexploratorystudyhas beendesignedforthePittsburghMetropolitanStatisticalArea(MSA)'--aregionin whichorganizationalsocialsystems'haveexperiencedchange-relatedstressinthe formofdownsizing,restructuring,privatisations,outsourcing,andthelike,since theearly1980s.ThestudybeganinDecember,1996andisexpectedtoconclude withinayear.
