Security: The Practical Implications of the Seventh Principle

Maintaining security is a key concern for any organisation involved in financial

services, both for itself and for its customers. Banks and building societies, insurance

companies and investment houses have been targeted for fraud and theft, with threats

coming from both outside and within organisations. The primary concern of financial

institutions is to maintain the integrity of financial systems rather than the integrity

of personal information; nevertheless there is a significant overlap between the two

objectives.
