Cultural Psychology: a Synthesis
As we stressed in Chapters 5 and 6, organizations have a critical need for data on their cultures and how they are manifested at the operational level. Without this information, it is impossible to address cultural issues appropriately. Data, of course, come in many forms. As researchers, we recognize the limitations of purely quantitative measures and the need to explore the deep structure of situations. In writing this book, we have tried to augment 'hard' data with the insiders' reports scattered through the text in boxes. Without the collaboration of those immersed in organizations, understanding will necessarily be incomplete.
