Getting the Best out of Individuals
In the last chapter we saw how building a team was one of the three essential tasks of a leader. This chapter focuses on getting the best out of individuals. People in leadership positions recognize that simply giving orders or instructions to the people who report to them is not enough. Although this approach might gain compliance, and get the job done, it does not usually lead to full engagement. While this might not have been all that important in the past, it is becoming essential in most if not all technology organizations within the financial services.
