ManyofthesedocumentshavebeendiscontinuedaspartoftheDepartmentofDefense'sinitiativetoreformtheprocurementprocess.Thishas leftanumberofprogramswithoutstandardizationdocuments.
MIL-STD-1787(47)istheUSAFstandardforaircraftflightdisplays. Whilethestandardcoversallflightdisplays,thevastmajorityofthe documentdealswithhead-updisplaysbasedonfightertechnology.Currently,thereisnodiscussionofrotary-wingorVTOLaircraft,although theseareplannedtobeincludedinthenextrevision.
