ABSTRACT
Considering, then, the numerous and heavy labours undertaken by Our brethren for the propagation of the faith, all their efforts, the proofs of their undaunted courage, We may well wonder at the numberless heathen who are still sitting in the shadows of death; for, according to recent statistics, their number amounts to a thousand million.
