ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the impacts of changes in society, politics and the economy to city and regional planning and its function from a historical perspective in Chinese history. In ancient China, methods of town construction were specified by either the code of rituals or Fengshui. It is useful to review and assess these ideas in the history.
