ABSTRACT
Textile collections should ideally be exhibited in accordance with museum principles. This means that everything for the exhibition is relevant to the purpose, vision and mission of the museum. In fact museums in Indonesia do not give much attention to the complete role of museums, because they still focus on improving the museum management, experts, skill, systems, and funding. Currently museums in Indonesia are increasing their awareness through developing museum staff and establishing the museum's public image to the public. ICOM, the International Council Organizations of Museums, provides a lot of information worldwide about museum development. It has been very helpful to museums in developing countries, particularly in Asia.
