ABSTRACT
Virtually all copies of the A and B Versions are described in the appropriate volumes of the Athlone edition (see Kane 1960, 1-18; Kane and Donaldson 1975, 1-15; and for further details on the A manuscripts, Doyle 1962). These supersede Skeat's earlier, less complete efforts, although Kane's descriptions of A Version copies are deliberately provisional. In the listing below, manuscripts are arranged by version and, within each version, by apparent genetic disposition. Each entry is given the order location, shelfmark, relevant folios, date of the hand, and the scribal dialect (where ascertainable).
