ABSTRACT
Differences in aircraft design will determine the performance level and ability to cope with certain operating excesses. The operation of aircraft close to their intended performance envelope reduces the margin of safety. Conversely, an operator that specifies extra equipment or capabilities for a particular aircraft model may also reap the benefits of a wider margin.
