ABSTRACT
Whereas the sociology of religion has its own conceptual tools to use on the study of ethnicity and religion, we believe that these tools should be integrated with tools derived from ethnic studies. Therefore, this chapter represents an effort to point to classical and current trends in ethnic studies with the hope that this will be of bene¿t for future studies on race, ethnicity, and religion.
