ABSTRACT

Cooperation has been identified as an essential requirement for the strategic performance of air transport organizations. It has been noted that cooperation in the form of networks and alliances is essential for the strategic performance of air transport organizations, where they are built on the principle that extension of network coverage and coordination of operations among organizations, even without anti-competitive mergers, creates far greater value for the individual organization compared to if the partners pursue an insular strategy (Gudmundsson and Oum, 2005).
