ABSTRACT
Complex human-machine systems, however advanced, need support from procedures, rules, guidelines and documentation. The consistency and logic of such concepts and support systems is extremely important for the safety and efficiency of the system. In high risk endeavours such as aviation, and military operations, it is essential that the organisation is continually supported by operational rules and procedures which must not only be followed, but should be error tolerant.
