ABSTRACT

Terminal Two at the Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) was opened in October 1999. This marked a new phase of development for Beijing's aviation industry. For the first time in two decades, the airport has a modern and spacious terminal to match its status as the busiest passenger airport in China. The BCIA is 28 kilometers northeast of the city centre. North China includes three provinces: Hebei, Shanxi, and Nei Mongol. Beijing, with its population of over 13.8 million, is the center of political, economic and cultural activities in China. Tianjin, an industrial city, is situated on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean and is only 100 kilometers southeast of Beijing. It has the seventh largest port in China and has good rail connections. Aside from its immediate neighboring provinces, Beijing is also the gateway to the neighboring provinces.
