ABSTRACT
The geographic location of the country will be presented in the preparation report as will be the main characteristics of the economy, detailed maps and Tables being set out in the Annexes to the report. The main features of the agriculture and rural development sector will be reviewed together with a summary of the sector development plan and perceived development constraints and opportunities. The location, area, topography, soils, natural resources, rainfall and peoples of the proposed project area will be defined and described and a map of the project area will be drawn up. At an early stage of the project preparation process a study of markets and prices prospects for the commodities and/or livestock to be produced will be carried out. Cost recovery is important because it addresses one or all of three main objectives namely the achievement of economic efficiency, equitable income distribution and public savings and investment.
