ABSTRACT

Training is all about learning and applying new skills, and in this way changing behaviour. Most training therefore should be skills based rather than knowledge based and the learning of those skills should take place as much as possible by practising them in one forum or another. If there is associated knowledge to be learned as well, this should be done beforehand so that the relevant knowledge can be applied or demonstrated during the skills practice. For the purposes of this book, I am using the classroom as the main forum for practising the required skills.
