ABSTRACT
Bodleian Library, MS Rawlinson D318 contains a register of the Chapel Royal (1560–1643) which differs in some details from the Cheque Book. The Old Cheque-Book or Book of Remembrance of the Chapel Royal, ed. Edward Rimbault, was published for the Camden Society in 1872 (repr. Da Capo Press, New York, 1965). The Bodleian Register has also been printed: H. N. Hillebrand, ‘Early History of the Chapel Royal’, Modern Philology, xviii, September 1920, pp.65–100, but since the latter is not readily available, I have newly transcribed the Rawlinson document here.
