ABSTRACT
IT was a Rule at Common Law, that a Right or Title, which any had to any Lands or Tenements of any Estate of Inheritance or Freehold, might not be barred by Acceptance of any Waver of collateral Satisfaction or Recompence; and this was the Reason that no collateral Recompence (as a Jointure) made to the Wife in Satisfaction of her Dower was any Bar of Dower at Common Law.
