ABSTRACT

The body fluid of an old man in bed is only about 85% of the young people. If the old man in bed cannot hydrate in time, physiological water shortage will be generated easily. Some serious diseases, such as hypertension, cerebral thrombosis and myocardial infarction are induced by physiological water shortage. The old man in bed cannot drink by himself without others’ help. What’s more, some old men in bed have to accept the help of passively being fed water by the nursing staff. Usually the nursing staff use straws or spoons to feed water. This way of feeding water will cause some shortages. For example, the water temperature is difficult to control, the nursing staff work hard, and rashes could easily result because the water may spill onto the skin in the process of feeding water and it may not be cleaned thoroughly. At the same time, the shortage of nursing staff means that the old man in bed may not get water in time. Aiming at this problem, the team has designed an active water fountain.
