ABSTRACT

With the development of technology, multiinformation, which provides us with great convenience, has become an indivisible part of contemporary college students’ life (Degusta 2012). The smartphone has become the main mean of transmitting this multi-information. Due to many reasons such as the influence of family and lifestyle, many students reveal too much dependence on their smartphones (Zhou 2010). The excessive dependence brings bad influence on the student behaviour patterns and ability to deal with issues (Wang 2014). The popularising of the smartphone changes the college students’ notions. They become approved with consumerism and hedonism. We do not deny that the smartphones, to some degree, help the college students broaden their horizon and acquire new knowledge. However, long term use of smartphones will not only destroy the students’ health but have a negative effect on their test scores. Based on knowing these study, we use the Grey model to analyse the influence that smartphones have on college students.
