ABSTRACT

There is an important role for philosophy to play in teaching people how to adopt an attitude of critical perspectivism. This ethical attitude may be applied to information we receive and help us to negotiate the online world so as to protect us while also enabling us to benefit from its interconnectedness and endless content. Philosophy may be taught within schools and educational spaces in order to achieve this goal, and philosophers may also play an important role outside of the academy and beyond the confines of the classroom. Philosophy can be done with members of the general public, and public intellectuals may demonstrate what critical perspectivism looks like in practise in an effort to enhance public debate.
