ABSTRACT
Following preanesthetic medication and IV induction, the general anesthetic procedure enters the maintenance stage. Although injectable anesthesia is sometimes employed to maintain anesthesia, inhalant anesthesia is more commonly used, especially when a long duration (≥1 hour) of anesthesia is needed.
