ABSTRACT

The body of a research proposal should end with a discussion section. Consider beginning this section with a summary of the material that preceded it. While it may seem redundant to do this, keep in mind that many readers read quickly and may have skipped over important ideas (and this is your chance to present them again). Other readers may have lost the big picture while considering the details (and this is your chance to help them refocus). If you write a summary, emphasize why your problem area is important and how your particular research purposes, questions, or hypotheses will help to advance knowledge of the problem area in which you are proposing to work.
