ABSTRACT

The function of titles and abstracts is to help readers identify reviews that are of interest to them. The points in Chapter 13 are primarily aimed at those writing standalone literature reviews, including meta-analyses. Titles and abstracts related to the literature review may not be as relevant for literature reviews within research reports. These points could offer help with how to title headings or chapter names in theses and dissertations.  Guideline 13.1: A title should be brief.
