ABSTRACT

One of the treatment options for refractory esophageal strictures is placing a self-expanding esophageal stent and fixating it to the esophageal wall by suturing to prevent migration. Although this approach has been shown that it’s both effective and safe, we report on a case where this procedure induced an aortoesophageal fistula with subsequent hemorrhage into the esophagus on 72-year-old women.
