ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses some of the salient aspects of the management of the talent capital. The literature on "human resources" generally fixates the administration of the personnel. The chapter focuses on the creative powers that the talented people are ready, willing, and able to contribute their ingenuity and insights so as to enable their company to achieve outstanding performances. The talent capital is 1 of the 5 corporate capitals of the enterprise. The structure of the traditional organization features well-established divides within which the respective managers jealously guard their prerogatives and their powers. The teamwork and the group dynamics influence the way people act. Total Quality Management relies heavily on teamwork in order to implement continuous business improvement. The responsibility for the management of the talent capital behooves first and foremost to the ones who lead and who work with these resources, and who depend on their effectiveness to get results.
