ABSTRACT
The calculation of displacements in elastic structures by the method of virtual work (considered in Chapter 8) represents the most general approach to the problem. However, in some cases, it may be convenient to apply other, more specialized, methods. Those among them which are most frequently used in practice will be developed in the present chapter.
