Social media and mobile technology grew up side-by-side and their growth is heavily intertwined. This chapter will examine the practical skills that are required to be a mobile editor. It considers how Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and other platforms are important for news distribution. It considers the best ways to publish our content on social media so it generates views and engagements. It introduces a mobile first approach to journalism content creation and looks at various publishing strategies on mobile, including creating websites, mobile apps, digital editions and aggregating content. It ends by inviting the reader to predict the future for digital journalism and consider concepts such as gatekeeping and on-demand media
