ABSTRACT

This chapter argues that a fast and important note about online and digital public relations (PR). Rule of PR and marketing for an inclusive company or show is to be aware of and keep serious control over the tone of writing about your disabled cast and staff. Production photos, production history, reviews, director's mission statement, press announcements, audition notices; all of this and more must be front and center online for funders, audience, actors and artists to see and hear. Some artists want to just be actors or designers and not discuss their disabilities in an open forum for the press, and other artists welcome the chance to discuss their life as an artist with a disability and director should know which ones are which. There are even artists with disabilities who choose as an artist. Those artists with disabilities who have the love and support of their families usually have a machine of activity and support behind them.
