ABSTRACT

The paper presents and analyzes the activities undertaken during the first part of an ongoing research project, which aimed at a better knowledge of the rammed earth architectural heritage in in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and at describing the promotion policies of this heritage. We first describe the results of localizing, identifying and mapping remarkable rammed earth sites and the local initiatives in the region. Then, we explain how this research engaged a co-construction process concerning the tools and mechanism to develop around rammed earth historic and vernacular building promotion and inclusion in local policies frameworks.
