ABSTRACT

This chapter helps us to learn more about how common it is to get an undesirable outcome after applying to the clinical psychology course, but that it is possible to recover from that disappointment. As demonstrated by the trainees who experienced this, an unsuccessful outcome can help us to grow and develop further. The chapter considers values and reasons for applying specifically for clinical psychology training. It is important to consider a variety of career options. Clinical psychology is not for everyone; one should feel free to change their mind or take a break from the career path without the sense of pressure to keep pursuing it. We should not forget that the skills and knowledge that we already possess are highly valuable and essential across many fields within and outside of psychology.
