ABSTRACT
The chi-square goodness of fit procedure tests whether the proportion (or frequency) of cases that fall within each category of a variable are consistent with the proportions (or frequencies) specified under the null hypothesis. An example in which the chi-square goodness of fit test may be used is presented next.
