ABSTRACT

This chapter proposes an analysis of current spatial and socio-economic dynamics along another one of the most important historical axes for the Milan urban region: from the city centre to the Malpensa International Airport, passing through the Expo 2015 site, and a system of other new and trans-scalar urban functions and productions, which are strategic for the configuration and representation of the “post-Fordist” Milan urban change and its two phases, before and after the world crisis.
